She puts it best in the description so I'll just quote her: "The theme is black and white, as the shutter closes. This means that you cannot turn your photographs to black and white using any editing software, any filters or any camera settings, or anything else... It is, in a sense, a colour photography contest, the subjects of the photographs, however, being black and white."

We covered her in baby powder to make her look as white as possible, no editing was done there. In Lightroom I darkened the shadows a little bit to bring out the blacks. We used VERY cool natural lighting next to a window, all the rest of the lights in the room were turned off, which is why it's so gray/blue, no editing done there, either. A slight vignette was added.
